A periodontist is a dental specialist with advanced training in all issues pertaining to the gums and jaw bone. This includes the treatment of gum disease, gum recession, jaw bone loss, teeth replacement, and gum plastic surgery (aesthetic recontouring) for a happier, healthier smile. As a leader in his field, Dr. Gradwell has pioneered many innovative implant techniques, including immediate-load dental implants, which is the placement of a tooth or teeth on the same day.
In July 2001, Dr. Gradwell was the first dental implant surgeon to provide the renowned Branemark Novum surgery in the Lehigh Valley. FAQs
Does your office take my dental insurance?
Our office is a fee-for-service office. We do not participate with any dental insurance and Dr. Gradwell is not a participating provider. As a courtesy, we will submit to your dental insurance, and they will reimburse you directly for the percentage they will allow.
Do you offer payment plans?
Our office does not offer payment plans; however, we do accept CareCredit, which is a health and wellness credit card with flexible financing options.
Will you communicate with my general dentist regarding my visits?
Our office will communicate with your general dentist by sending necessary notes regarding your treatment.
What will I expect as a new patient at my first appointment?

Will my treatment be painful?
You can expect localized soreness, but most patients control it by taking prescription-strength Ibuprofen.
Will I need to come back for a follow-up appointment?
This is dependent on what type of treatment you have done. After most treatment, patients are seen one week after for a postoperative visit.
Will I need medication after my procedure?
Our office surgical protocol is to have each patient take antibiotics post-treatment as well as prescription-strength Ibuprofen. Our office provides each patient with these medications as a courtesy with no need to go to the pharmacy after your procedure.
